How long does it take to grow?

Holy Basil seeds take 5-10 days to sprout; Lemon Balm seeds take 14-28 to sprout; Mint seeds take 7-14 to sprout

How much sun will it need?

Herbs thrive in temps 72°-90°F and with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight (an unobstructed south or west-facing window is best). Starting in Mar-Sept will provide longer days and thus optimal light. If starting during cooler months, it’s recommended that you supplement natural light with a grow light (fluorescent or LED).

Can I put it outside?

This Grow Kit is designed for indoor use but you can transplant your herbs outdoors into a container or the ground.

How do I dry the herbs to make tea?

Dry your herbs to have a stash ready when you need a pick-me-up. Gather your herbs, give them a gentle rinse to remove any dirt and tie them together in small bunches using kitchen twine. Hang upside down until completely dry, about 1-2 weeks. Store dried herbs in an air tight container for up to 1 year.

Can I use the mug as a mug?

Yes, the mug is Food Safe Certified.

Basil

Temperature: 69-72 degrees Fahrenheit

Light: At least 4 hours of direct sunlight a day

Moisture: Average; likes damp, but not wet conditions

Germination Time: 5-8 days

Planting Depth: ½” below soil

To encourage more full yields, prune often, and prune down to the lowest nodes.

Mint

Temperature: 74+ Degrees

Light: High light exposure, south facing windows highly recommended

Moisture: Dry

Germination Time: 8- 12 days

Planting Depth: Do not bury under soil

Try greenhousing. Keep in a sunny spot and cover the surface with plastic wrap. Let condensation form, and check in 3-5 days for results.

Light: Full sun to partial shade. 3-8 hours of sunlight.

Germination Time: 7-14 days
