We need trees now more than ever. Trees purify the air by absorbing and storing harmful greenhouse gases, and releasing oxygen back into our atmosphere. They gather precious rainwater while their roots filter out pollutants and prevent erosion and flooding. They are precious home, shelter, sustenance, and habitat to thousands of living things: plants, mosses, animals, and insects. They calm our souls and inspire our imaginations. That’s why we’re on a mission to help reforest the future.
Modern Sprout has partnered with American Forests to help reforest the future. Every year, 18.7 million acres of forest are lost. For every tree kit purchased, Modern Sprout makes a donation to American Forests to plant a tree.
In 2020, we planted over 8,500 trees. In 2021, we’re committing to planting another 50,000.
Tree Kits feature carefully selected seed types that will thrive in most parts of the country. The container is made in the USA out of up-cycled cow manure, which is 100% biodegradable and helps heal nutrient-depleted soil. About our seeds:
Blue Spruce: These conifers love long cold winters and northern winds. Not suitable for South FL.
American Sycamore: This tree is easy going and adaptable to most temperate regions.
Loblolly Pine: These pines thrive in the sultry warmth of the South and Southwest. Not suitable for Northern states (SD, ND, MN, MT, ME, VT, NH).
